good morning glory!
it feels great to be resting at home now. anw, my dad is worried for me cos im graduating with no honours. and i just happen to be the kind who doesnt like it when people get worried over somehting i am not. hahhh im enjoying life right now and i believe Allah gives me the best.
so yeah if you’ve seen photos on facebook, i went to KL last weekend with lynn and fizah. it was a pretty short trip. we reached KL at around 4 plus in the ungodly hours, then we checked into some cheap backpackers hotel. eversince my visit to melbourne, i’ve decided that i’d adopt backpacking style. hah. so yes, after we washed up and stuff, we headed out to KLCC. damn im so proud of myself. navigating through KL’s intricate and annoying transport system takes patience. its more annoying that the passerbys i met to ask questions know nothing about their own public transport! wth! but its oklah, at least i had the chnce to interact with the locals. i think travelling is incomplete without interaction with them locals, no matter how much you know they hate you! haha.
we queued up for the skybridge passes. finally! managed to get on those towers. the last few times i got there, the tickets were already gone. so in a way, we were lucky. if you ask me bout the experience, its…ok lor. maybe it depends on the time of the day.( would have been nice to catch sunset.) but thankfully the sky was not very cloudy thus we could really see far till the mountains. (:
after that we had lunch at the manhattan fish market restaurant. damn nice! hahh im sure to go back there again. (:
as a whole the trip was a great experience for me. walking around puduraya at 12 am. risking dear life. hah! it would have been more fun if my two sleepyhead friends were not spending half the time stoning to jiwang songs on their ipod or sleeping on coffee tables!
anw while i was at pudu, i chat up this makcik who addressed herself as “kakak”. hhha if theres one thing i cant adapt myself to, its that. she fits the desription of a typical puduraya homeless. so we were talking. ok AIIII was talking, she was whispering like an ant. i asked if she was waiting for the bus and she just stared at me for a good 5 seconds. and then said she was waiting for her new job. (at 12.20am?!) then she went on to say how lucky i am to be a singaporean.bla bla bla.once in awhile she’d look down and straighten the crease of her hankie. i was totally drawn into the convo man.. when she found out i could see the small prints on her eye-drop bottle, she gleamed and told me that i should “masuk tentera”. that got me laughing real hard. (you guys know la i have this sudden tendency to LAUGH OUT LOUD) and that attracted the attention of abang-abang cleaners who could pass off as mat-mat rempit if they were on their bikes. at the same time, a police officer walked past and then i noticed the makcik hiding the eyedrop bottle (and the 5rm i got from fizah) in her pocket.at that moment i was suddenly aware of my surrounding. surrounded by people whose lives are harsh. at that moment, with all those little gestures i realised the pain these people go through.
its so sad. and i really want to know their stories.
on a separate note, im holding a review/post-mortem session for CAMPinc tmr. im a little anxious cos i want it to be a good one.
Allah please guide me.
Amin. (:
