au revoir ramadhan..

Posted in Uncategorized on September 30, 2008 by afrouzeh

yes, besok hari raya. (:

ramadhan has just flown past me with a zip. alhamdulillah this time around it was better than the previous. when adib asked why i said so, i realised i cant put it into words. its a first time experience that transcends all that came before this. haha. may Allah accept our good deeds and supplications for Him. hopefully, we remain (or be more) steadfast for the next 11 months. and right now, im looking forward to the next ramadhan. insyaAllah.

and yes, im looking foward to raya too! im excited to meet up with cousins and relatives i havent seen for months. and im hoping my dad would do the “ma punye side dulu” tmr.  like a glutton i might sound, my mum’s side always have to-die-for hari raya feast spreads on the first day of raya. hahha. yeah no kidding. we have all the skillful chefs and tukang masaks.from sambal sotong (my favourite) to sambal goreng pengantin (my favourite also) to rendang hati/limpa (my favourite also) to ayam bumbu (my favaourite also! hahha..ok i’ll stop it) to lemon chicken or sweet and sour fish or shark’s fin soup. haha if you think i cant eat them all in one day, you are wrong!
alhamdulillah. (:

and tonight, insyaAllah i’ll be going to ahmad ibrahim mosque for takbir. this (and solat eid) has always been an emotional affair for me. no, not because i’ve lost someone precious or im in any kind of sufferings, but because..i also dunno eh. haha.

ok thats my pre-raya post.

now, i also have my favourite raya songs. but im putting this one by aisyah. lagu sedih dok! plus ada lyrics, you all boleh berkaraoke di pagi raya.

lailatulqadr

was last night the night?

according to hadiths my madrasah ustazah shared with us,there are various signs that a night might be the night. but the signs are more post than pre lailatul qadr.
for instance, from ubai bin ka’ab (radhiallahu anhu), “On the basis of that sign which the Prophet (Pbuh) had told us. The morning following the night, there are no sun-rays at sun-rise.” (Muslim)

and another one, Ibn ‘Abbaas, (radhiallahu anhu) said: Allaah’s Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wassalam) said:Lailatul-Qadr is calm and pleasant, neither hot nor cold, the sun
arises on its morning being feeble and red.”
(Hassan)

wallahualam. whenever the night is, may Allah bless us with the rewards of a thousand months, Amiin.
and about what suli wrote on her blog about night time in singapore is not night time all over the world, so how can there be one lailatulqadr? i know Allah is fair, he is The One who is Just in His Judgements. so insyaAllah if a muslim is doing his night prayers in new york when a muslim here in singapore has just finished zuhur, and vice-versa, both would have experience lailatulqadr.

on a totally different note, im almost done with my biz law essay! haha now im almost an expert in exemption/ liability clause. so u guys can consult me shd the need arise. HAHA. right.
