hey!

3 entries this week, i must be damn free. hahha.

anw, the week has been surprisingly eventful. the dinner on thurs with the stong girls was really to die for (?) hahah. food was good and company was undoubtedly great! nice to see shaz, jihan and huda after so long. endless stong jokes were repeatedly told. hahah tak basi2 seh. back to nehhh-ture kapee!

this is my muka excited tak menjadi. and the menu book sure look damn huge.

an early bird,

caught the worm!

so we took more photos as we waited for the rest and as the managers and waiters of swensens were excited to take our orders.

who booked this table?

shaz and i. (:

fanah and i (:

the girls on the otha side. hahha

my lamb chops and i. YUMMY!

the night i let someone who shared desserts with me order MINT!

hahha ni favourite. this wasnt a pose, was all natural. guess what happened?

spoon pose yo!

that was my happening mlm juma’at. haha.

next was baybeats on friday. weee. despite my runny nose and being under the weather i went for it. haha SEMS! went with nizar cos i cant imagine myself going alone. then got no one to complain and whine to. HAHAHA. actually i went just see Force vomit perform but while waitng we saw 2 other bands. (the first band, Leeson, was amazing but the Peep Show band was more amazing. hehehe. cos the bassist very ham-some. this further reaffirmed that bassists are always the cuter one in a band.) ANYWAY! unlike the first 2 bands that performed at the chillout stage, force vomit performed at the powerhouse stage. therefore… you could see the crowd surfing and all.couldnt see if theres any moshing or skanking going on cos i wasnt near the stage. you could undeniably mistake FV for a kugiran that plays at malay weddings at the void decks. haha their very agogo+malay rock was so distinct from the other bands at baybeats. well FV didnt disappoint all of us cos they ended their performance with the all-time fave song, Siti! their other song “The Kids who WTF”  was performed with such zest. and in case you;re wondering, they didnt go “we were the kids who what the fffff../want to ffffffff..”. hahha the lyrics are all descent ok. from malaysia some more. so go find out. but i particularly like how they ended one song, they went..”SYAAAKILAAAAAA..” hahahha. macam lagu wings seh. (ok, dont think i dunno kental jiwang songs hor).

bottom line is, just brush off the posers and enjoy the show! (:
too bad i didnt take any proper pics to upload.

alright till the next time im free again!

dance like nobody’s watching!

ANYWAY, today spells out FREEE DAY. *skips skipping rope*
yesterday i went for a workshop, titled: Stress Management thru Realistic Optimism.
self-explanatory title right. let me share with you what the talk’s about.

firstly, Stress. everyone experiences stress for as long as changes happen. stress like stepping into a new environment, or coping with new circumstances. changes = stress. therefore theres no running away from it. but good news! stress does not necessarily induce minsfortune.

secondly, the cost of pessimism. very high! pessimism, undoubtedly can cause higher risk of depression. that, and also poor physical health and immune system. sadly but true, being pessimistic puts a barrier that prevents you from achieving what you could with your talents. in other words, you cant succeed cos you’ve already decided that you wont be able to.

thirdly is to manage stress in an optimistic way. you can do so by anticipating difficulties and thus get yourself prepared for it. however if things already happened, you gotta learn to accept and find ways to solve them. say for example your car broke down in the middle of the expressway, you dont get stressed up by thinking who actually caused it or get angry cos you forgot to check the car. instead, you should just press the buttons on your phone and get the repairman or you father. haha. go easy. i know this is easier said then done cos its always more “fun” to blame others and get angry then to just let things go and move ON!

fourthly is how we manage stress cognitively. you take control of yourself. do the SWOT thing. strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. that said, you must define “success”. as much as this word might seem pretty objective, it is actually subjective. or even suggestive. or digestive. haha what ever way you look at it. make sure your definition is realistic and not TOO rigid. give yourself some space and air. but if you’re studying in singapore, then maybe its not very easy to be “not TOO rigid”. cos you either get your As or you’re going down. like me. haha. ok pessimistic ideas. nexxxt! you also manage stress cognitively by being spiritually aware of yourself. dont restrict that to just by having a religion. spiritual awareness means learning about yourself, know your direction and meaning in life. maybe if your meaning in life is to own a lexus rh series or a condo along the premier residential district, albeit very materialistic, then, that is what you work towards. direction! lastly, connect with others. learn about interpersonal relationships and garner support from the people you  trust around you. this works i tell you. InsyaAllah.

next is to manage stress by working with your perception. IMPORTANT!! havent you noticed that we do lots of selective awareness all the time. example, we only see the bad side of things amongst the good sides. like for example, i’d normally say things like..”singapore is such a boring place! everywhere we see shopping centres. cant we have more interesting places to hang out?” then i didnt notice that singapore has nice and clean parks where i can enjoy nice picnics. (hahah. me and picnics!) next, we should learn to STOP and SMELL the roses. this is what i’ve also learned when i attended a religious talk at the mosque. sometimes we can be in a moment where life is like a piece of shit. everything is bad and we just wanna cut the artery on our wrist but we cut the vein instead or something. we totally forgot that there are other beautiful things in our lives. therefore be thankful for what you have. for what you dont, be thankful too. then we should also appreciate a good joke. to be able to laugh at funny moment, at your silly antics or your neighbour’s face. haha kidding! learn to see the humour in things with no ill intentions. lastly, is to take responsibility for your own life. enough of seeing yourself as a victim and take actions. sometimes we’re surrounded with negative people who seem to make our lives living hell. theres nothing we can do to change them, but there are many things we can do to change ourselves to handle these mf. heh. then again, easier said then done but i guess its worth trying.

till the second part!

i have tutorials to do now.
